Crock Pot Potato Soup

Rob and Caroline discovered an easy and delicious recipe for potato soup made in a crock pot. They have brought this soup to previous Ash Wednesday soup suppers and would like to share it with you.


  • 1 30 oz bag frozen hash-brown potatoes
  • 2 14 oz cans chicken broth
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese softened


  • In a crock pot, combine potatoes, broth, soup, onion, and pepper.
  • Cover, and cook on low for 5 hours.
  • Stir in cream cheese, then cook 30 minutes longer, stirring occasionally until combined.
  • Garnish with green onion, cheddar cheese, and bacon if desired.
