Our church is deeply committed to giving back to our community. Through various outreach programs and initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Whether it’s volunteering at the local food pantry to help local families facing hunger, contributing financially to the Steelville School’s Back program, or organizing and hosting Red Cross blood drives, our congregation is always eager to extend a helping hand. We believe that serving our community is not just a responsibility but a privilege, and we are dedicated to spreading love, compassion, and hope to all those we encounter. It is our firm belief that by collectively contributing our time, resources, and goodwill, we can create a stronger, more compassionate, and tightly-knit community that thrives on the principles of empathy and unity.
In The Community
Vacation Bible School
We invite the children in our community and our church to participate in our Vacation Bible School the last week of July every year. The program begins with a free family meal for all attendees and their families each night to encourage spiritual fellowship. Then students spend the evening learning Bible stories, eating fun snacks, playing awesome games, conducting science experiments, and creating crafts. At the end of each evening, we review what we learned, sing songs, and give to our mission project. On the last day, we end our VBS experience with a pool party at the Steelville City Pool. We average 35-40 students and 18-20 volunteers each year. We are excited to work together to fulfill God’s calling and reach out to others, especially our youth, during the week of VBS.
Red Cross Blood Drives
Steelville Presbyterian Church is proud to partner with the American Red Cross and be a part of all they do for our community, our country and around the world. We hold blood drives at least twice a year, one of them every September during Steelville’s Harvest Festival. There are many ways you can help, but most importantly, we hope you come to donate.

Steelville Ministerial Alliance
Our Ministerial Alliance food pantry exists to serve the community by helping to feed those in need. Distribution occurs on the last two Tuesdays of each month from 2-4 PM at 330 Perkins Drive. People who are in need of assistance with gas, electric bills, etc. can call the Ministerial Alliance representative, Karen Miles, on Monday or Thursday from 11:00-12:30 at 573-775-4664.
With the help of local churches, the Ministerial Alliance holds baccalaureate service for graduating seniors each year, has an annual Community Thanksgiving Service, organizes a Gospel Sing during Harvest Festival every September, provides sack suppers for the boys and girls basketball away games, provides breakfast and supervision for “See You at the Pole” day of prayer at the local schools in September, and holds an annual World Day of Prayer event on the courthouse steps.
Steelville Presbyterian Church financially supports the Ministerial Alliance and volunteers from our church help with food distribution at the Food Pantry.
4-H
For more than 100 years, 4-H has welcomed young people of all beliefs and backgrounds, giving kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better.
The Yadkin Creek 4-H Club meets at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at our church. For more information about this club, contact Kim Zeiss at [email protected].
Meals of Love
Meals of Love is a community outreach mission designed to feed the hungry and lonely of our community. Many area churches contribute time, food, and money toward this monthly ministry that prepares and serves a hot, home-cooked meal at no charge to anyone who will come. The ladies of the Steelville Presbyterian Church took on the responsibility of providing homemade desserts for each meal and have been doing this monthly since inception. Volunteers from our church also help pack carry out meals and serve those who attend in person.
The meal is served at noon at the Steelville Community Building on the last Saturday of every month. Everyone is welcome.
Operation Christmas Child
Every year, our church partners with Samaritan’s Purse and tens of thousands of volunteers from churches in our community and around the world to collect shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love. Collections typically begin in the fall and are delivered during National Collection Week the third week of November.

Community Child Care Center
The Community Child Care Center is a state licensed, non-for-profit facility serving our local families operating under a Covenant relationship with the church. The center has a preschool program and before/after school program.

The Steelville Presbyterian Church has been a sponsor of the Boy Scouts of America for many years, providing a safe meeting place for many scout troops.
