Christian Education

The committee seeks to glorify God through Christian education for the purpose of fostering Christian faith and commitment, nurturing spiritual growth, and developing servant leaders.

Responsible for:
The Church School
Opportunities for education with adults
Opportunities for education with young adults [teens]
Ministry with Children and Youth
Recommending to the Session curricula to be used in regular classes

Congregational Life

The committee ministers to the needs of our church community by providing care of mind, body and spirit, nurturing our congregation’s efforts to live the second greatest commandment to love one another.

Responsible for:
The strengthening and support of members and friends of the church
Social opportunities within the church community
After-worship fellowship time
Encouraging and welcoming new members

Worship, Music & the Arts

The committee provides for the worship of the people of God by designing, enhancing, implementing, and evaluating the regular and special worship services that support the spiritual journey of our members and visitors of all ages as we worship.

Responsible for:
The worship of the church, as guided by the Directory for Worship, in consultation with the Pastor
The music offered in worship
The choirs of the church
In conjunction with the pastor, oversight of the music staff, paid and/or volunteer,  and assignment of duties
The incorporation of the arts into the life and worship of the church

Mission & Outreach

The committee plans and conducts activities designed to help the congregation know and do the will of God in our community, nationally, and internationally.

Responsible for:
The witness of the church to the community
Ongoing mission relationships within the community
Special mission relationships

Building & Grounds

The committee oversees and maintains church property under session guidance, oversees the use of the church building and policies governing its use, and recommends to the session major expenses to maintain the facility including remodeling or repair as needed.

Responsible for:
Regular maintenance and improvements to church building and grounds
Supervision of the church custodian
Supervision of the use of church facilities
